My feed was full of politics.
And I did not like it.
I had just downloaded a new browser called Ecosia. Every search is private (they don’t sell your data), and every search funds the planting of new trees.
I was in. 🌱
When I set it up, Ecosia asked me to fill out a questionnaire about my interests so they could recommend articles.
But the algorithm didn’t quite get me.
Every morning my homepage was full of political turmoil, global conflict, and endless crisis.
At first, I ignored it.
Then, I decided to do something about it.
I started clicking.
Not on what I didn’t want — but on what I did.
At first, I just X’d out what didn’t feel good. Then, whenever something even vaguely interesting showed up, I clicked through.
After a few days, Ecosia got the message.
Now I open my browser and see stories about spirituality, entrepreneurship, and breakthroughs in astronomy. (“Harvard scientist says we may have found evidence of alien civilization!”)
I still get the occasional political drama. But mostly? Not.
And that feels much better.
Our minds work the same way.
When we focus on what we don’t want, we train the algorithm of awareness to find more of it.
When we focus on what we do want — even in little ways — we teach our brain to notice more and more of what we enjoy.
That’s why I’m so adamant about the power of Feel Good Now.
We’re training the life algorithm in every moment.
What we focus on expands.
So feel good now.
Focus on what feels good.
Click on what feels good.
And watch it multiply.
Now, I’m off to read about upcoming alien contact,
Jack
