“I think your book The Stranger is underappreciated.”
When a close friend told me that today, it gave me pause.
Because I hadn’t really thought about it like that.
I love The Stranger, and the people who read it tend to like it.
One Amazon reviewer said:
“I read it in one sitting. Highly recommend.”
Another wrote:
“The storyline is full of adventure and intrigue. A great way to dissolve into the imagination and enjoy the rich experience of fantasy.”
Sure, calling it a “post-apocalyptic cowboy epic” might not sell it to everyone.
But Brandice definitely resonated when she wrote that the book “balances the grand and the intimate, marrying cosmic stakes with quiet, human moments.”

It’s like if The Magnificent Seven was rewritten after the apocalypse—with interdimensional travel and demon hunting.
Not everyone has to like that.
But I really do.
And when you do something because it feels good to you…
And it’s aligned with your values and vision…
You sort of forget to check how the world responds.
(Even though it does feel good to get a nice review.)
So this is just a little reminder:
Forget about what everyone else is thinking.
Do what feels good to you.
Let your imagination have fun.
The ones who resonate will appreciate your genuine joy.
From the swingy bench with the rain canopy and green pillows,
Jack
