I opened one of my books to a random page, and this is what came out.
From “The Land of the Fey” in my post-apocalyptic cowboy adventure novella The Stranger:
It was broody and dark in this forest. Muffled birdcalls echoed. Somewhere, they could smell a bog.
Gerardo told them they were in the land of the fey. The madman had lived here for a long time when he was young, and if he was lucky he could still find a door back to it in lonely, out-of-the-way places.
Adain, the young scholar, was still in shock after their battle at the Field of Souls.
The sheriff of Josek bandaged Adain’s face and clapped him on the shoulder.
“You’ll be alright,” she said gruffly. “Won’t even lose the eye.”
Gerardo called back to ask if they were ready to move.
Adain swallowed and nodded.
“I’ll be alright,” he said. “We should keep moving.”
Some things cannot be fixed immediately.
You just have to wait a little while.
Five thousand years after the fall of human civilization, a stranger arrives in the frontier town of Josek…
So begins an adventure that crosses continents, fulfills an ancient promise, and may bring salvation to the very people who destroyed the world.
Follow the stranger and his ragtag band of companions as they battle demons, step through portals to other realms, and confront truths that may tear them apart.
The sheriff, brave and stern. The madman, who wanders between worlds. The scholar, atoning for his greatest sin. The witch, who has seen her fate in the bones. And the fireman, who lives to watch the world burn.
The destiny of more than one world is in their hands.

I wrote this book to activate your imagination.
To fill your mind with vivid images and your heart with epic emotions.
Because what we feed our mind and heart becomes the texture of our own life story.
I wrote this book for real people like you. And here’s what readers have said:
Leslie wrote:
“These stories aren’t just entertaining but also very wise. They help one to see things through a new lens as well as sharing an adventure.”
Brandice gave it five stars, saying:
“The novel dazzles not only through its landscapes of ruin and fire but also through its rhythm of reflection. It balances the grand and the intimate, marrying cosmic stakes with quiet, human moments of friendship, betrayal, and endurance.”
At its heart, The Stranger is a tale of friendship.
The stranger is grateful for every friend he meets along the way.
And I am grateful for you.
I’m currently lost somewhere in the bog, but I’m sure my friend Gerardo will find me…
Probably.
— Jack
P.S.
Short chapters. A nugget of everyday wisdom at the end of each one.
Every page full of danger, friendship, and a quest greater than any one of us alone.
Once The Stranger is in your library, it’s the kind of book you’ll return to again and again.
