We were trapped.
Rain poured down on the park, forcing us to huddle together.
We stood at the highest corner of the hill under a cluster of trees, our backs to the wind.
Baloo paced nearby.
Things looked grim.
Then one of us suggested,
“Well… how about we play Globle?”
It felt good now—laughing, using Belle’s scarf as an umbrella, playing a geography trivia game.
(The mystery country was Turkmenistan today.)
A few minutes after our game ended, the sun came out.
Rain glinted optimistically in the light.
Ten minutes later, crossing the street toward home, we were rewarded with a perfect rainbow arched over the house and the river.
It was the kind of rainbow that could only have appeared on a rainy day like today.
It felt like a gift from the universe.
When you find a reason to feel good and enjoy the moment, life often responds in mysterious and beautiful ways.
From the house under the rainbow,
Jack

If you enjoy warm-hearted stories and optimistic life lessons, I think you’d enjoy Pillar Walker.
It’s the story of a folksy pilgrim wandering across a dragon-blessed empire.
