Feel good now.
And remember: what other people say is a reflection of their mind and energy — not yours.
Recently, someone commented on one of my videos:
“I get that you’re just trying to share your good vibes or whatever, but there are a lot of psychos out there who might take it the wrong way. They’ll start acting like life is a game. And that’s when the problems happen. So I hope they don’t.”
I had to laugh.
“Changing our behavior based on how potential psychos might react sounds like insanity to me,” I replied.
And that’s how I feel.
First of all, you never know how a psycho might respond! Trying to anticipate their reactions sounds exhausting. Not at all aligned with my motto:
Feel good now.
Second, the commenter assumed “there are a lot of psychos out there.” Which I don’t believe either.
Sure, maybe there are people whose actions I don’t understand or agree with. But why would I base my life on their imagined reactions?
Honestly, when I reread the comment, I wondered whether the commenter was secretly one of the psychos!
Here’s the truth:
I feel good. I share that. How other people react is not my concern.
And it shouldn’t be yours either.
Act in alignment with your own beliefs.
Feel good now.
Don’t listen to the unsolicited chatter of the other monkeys.
Even when it’s positive!
Because I’ve also gotten comments like:
“This is great! I love the life-as-a-video-game metaphor — I’m sharing it with my kid.”
“I was having a hard day and this was just what I needed.”
“These messages are my favorite part of social media.”
That feels good to receive. I appreciate it.
But hey… THEY MIGHT BE PSYCHOS TOO!
So the lesson is simple:
You never know who’s a secret psycho. Maybe everyone but you is.
Don’t listen to psychos.
Listen to your inner compass.
Feel good now.
Life isn’t a trial to be endured.
It’s a game to be enjoyed.
And life feels a whole lot better when you see it that way.
Dodging psychos left and right,
Jack
