Six years ago, I met an exiled angel who changed my life.
It was 2019. I was living in a tiny attic apartment in northern Paris.
A sloping roof with one small window. A mattress tucked under it. A shower pod in the corner. A hot plate on top of a mini-fridge. A desk pressed up against the bed.
Enough space to walk between the bed, the shower, the desk, and the door. No space beyond that.
Every day, I woke up and wrote.
At lunch, I’d cross Parc Monceau to buy a baguette, sit on one of the great stone tombs, and eat with a wedge of cheese. Then back to the attic to write some more.
By the end of the summer, just before I boarded a plane home to California, it was done:
Lucian Lightbringer & God’s Bounty.
The story of an angel exiled from Earth with his wings cut from his back and his demon ex-girlfriend soul-bound inside the blade of his sword.
I had no idea then how long Lucian and his world would stay with me.
Now, six years later, I’m back in France — this time in a villa in Provence, looking out over the Mediterranean — and I’ve just finished the third installment:
Lucian Lightbringer & the Profane Prophet.
I didn’t expect how writing Lucian would change me.
After years of publishing weekly web fiction, writing a novel without instant feedback taught me patience, devotion, and faith in my own craft.
I didn’t expect the relationships the books would spark. Lucian has connected me with readers I never imagined — including my partner’s grandmother, who devoured the series and told me she can’t wait for it to be made into a movie.
And when I typed the last words of Book Three, I shed a few tears. Because the full circle feeling of fulfilment in my chest just couldn’t be contained.
It’ll be a little while before Book Three is published (editing, manuscript prep, cover art, all the works).
But in the meantime…
👉 You can download the first two books for just $9 here.
More than a cup of coffee — because they’ll give you 10x the buzz with none of the crash.
Less than a movie ticket — even though they’ve got enough blockbuster set pieces to bankrupt Marvel Studios.
Prefer paperback? You can order them on Amazon here and gift them to someone who loves adventure.

Today, I’d love for you to meet them too.
Much love from France,
