I literally saved someone’s life today.
This morning I sat on a towel by the corner of the pool to record a guided meditation for YouTube.
Behind me, the tall green reeds rustled in the breeze. Water trickled from a hose, refilling the pool.
And then, gentle raindrops began to fall on my skin.
I opened my eyes.
The rain looked so beautiful on the flat surface of the pool that I turned my camera to share it with my viewers.
And that’s when I saw it: a small insect, struggling in the water.
“Hold on one second,” I said to the audience. “I’m just going to scoop up this little guy…”
So I did.
A minute later, after drying its wings on my finger, the bug climbed off and disappeared back into the wild.
That felt good.
It reminded me how little some things matter.
And how much other things do.
Who cares if the video gets a million views?
Who cares if it gets none?
There is a spark of life alive today that might have drowned.
But it didn’t.
And that feels good.
Do what feels good.
Love life in all its forms.
Act like it.
It feels good.
I promise.
Much love from the corner of the pool,
Jack
