My coffee cup tells me what to do.
And I listen to it.
Feel good now.
“Pause.”
That’s what is stamped on the outside of the ivory-colored coffee mug with pink polka dots on the inside.
It’s sitting next to my laptop right now where I can read it.
Just the one word: “Pause”.
It’s one of my favorite cups in our cupboard, because it reminds me to take a moment before drinking.
Take a moment and feel good now.
Feel good now.
Pause before you drink and feel good now.
Pause before you eat and feel good now.
Pause before you arrive at work or school and feel good now.
Pause before you talk to your friends, family or loved ones…
And feel good now.
When we feel good, we gain access to inner resources and outer blessings.
Carnegie Melon researchers found that when participants paused before a problem-solving task to think about something meaningful (for example, loved ones or life dreams) they were able to solve the task with noticeably more ease and confidence.
Feel good now.
A famous Cornell University study revealed that rabbits being fed an unhealthy diet were virtually unaffected by it if they were given cuddles and positive affirmations before eating.
Feel good now.
Pause.
Feel good now.
And when you go on with your day, wherever you go and whatever you do…
You have been blessed from inside by the power of your own bliss.
From the kitchen table with my coffee mug whispering encouragement,
Jack
