I woke up late today.
Once, that would have made me feel bad.
I would’ve had a story running through my mind about how waking up later than 6am meant I was lazy.
That I had no discipline.
That I wasn’t going to achieve my goals in life.
I might have even spiraled into an inner monologue about how I didn’t deserve to manifest my dreams if I woke up late.
Crazy to think that’s how I used to talk to myself.
I much prefer my current inner voice.
It’s the one that reminds me:
Feel good now.
A voice that gently redirects me toward what actually feels good in my day.
I woke up rested after a deep, refreshing night of sleep.
I enjoyed a cup of tea and some reading time.
I went for a long walk with my partner and our dog.
I recorded and scheduled a dozen videos.
And now I’m sitting down to write this note to you.
A note that reminds me I woke up late…
And the world didn’t collapse.
In fact, my day was pretty wonderful.
I did things that felt good while I was doing them.
Things that feel good to remember.
And I shared that good feeling with the beings around me.
Feel good now.
I do love waking up early.
Seeing the lightshow of dawn.
Writing in the quiet morning hours.
Working on books like my bestselling Lucian Lightbringer series (which you can read here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F3DJW8J1).
But not every day is the same.
And on mornings when I wake up late…
I can still feel good.
And I can still trust that good things are allowed to happen to me.
You can, too.
You deserve to focus on the good parts of your day.
You deserve to feel good now.
And this is your reminder that it’s always possible.
Much love,
Jack
PS
These days my biggest motivation to wake up early is writing.
I love my books. And readers do, too.
One of my favorite reviews recommends to “bring snacks and drinks,” because once you start reading you won’t want to get up.
